I would recommend Oakwood, both the shampoo and conditioner. It is chocked full of natural ingredients, and it also contains citronella which will repel flies, mosquitos, insects, etc.

:) Hi, I like the suggestions, a natural care product is best! You can find good information on how to groom your horses tail on the bottom of this article http://www.reinholdshorsewellness.com/horsegroomingguidelines.html
So the first thing you want to stop doing is brushing!
Good luck!

excessive brushing causes the hair to break too much. try braiding. Helps the hair grow longer, easy to resist the urge to brush.

I had a horrifying memory of cutting my horse's tail hair when I was about 12. I had seen braiding and tying it up and thought that's what my horse needed too. I babied it with baby shampoo growing it out. That poor horse didn't have tail to swat flies all summer long
