What's your favorite breed?

I saw a post about someone that has bought a ranch and wondered what type of horses to breed.


That to me is the classic cart before the horse. But it did lead me to my alltime favorite question. What breed of horse is your favorite and why?

I like quarter horses.

They are quick, easy to train. Less tempermental.

I ride Tennessee Walker predominantly. I just haven't found another horse that has that walking gate that just lulls you to sleep in the saddle.

So smooth and relaxing.

I prefer Quarter Horses as well. My brother owns two who live out on his ranch, although they aren't really work horses. They are more like spoiled family members.

I like Paints =] you never know what colors and patterns your going to get =] its always a surprise. and they are very sweet and fairly easy to train.

I like a few breeds but there are my favs.

- Quarter horse
- Paint
- American Quarter Horse
- Arabian

i luv quarter horses they have a great temperment and can be used to do just about anything

I like Andalusians and any type of warmblood, especially the Irish Sports Horse as I like eventing :)

My name says it all in the end. I love a good Racking Horse. Such an awesome breed and a great riding horse.

My second favorite is the Quarter horse. Having those on the farm they can be a blast with great personalities as well.

I really like Welsh Cobs, Mustangs, Morgans... anything with a personality. They may be difficult, but I enjoy it... mostly I just laugh. They are always testing you, trying you... they are very loud though and clearly let you know what they are thinking. I have a bad habit of falling in love with trouble makers.. but it seems that I am the only one in the barn that can get along with them. Says something about myself huh?

((Just want to clarify there is a difference between those trouble makers and those who are just plain dangerous...)

i'm going w/ arabians b/c 1. i've had the best experience w/ them previously 2. they look strong 3. each one i've had contact w/ has been the most loyal horse

Well my favourite breed in the whole wide world is...... The Thoroughbred XD
i have owned 3 so far (Currently own two) I love the challange of the "Hot-headed-ness" and their "Physco" nature, although my lot aren't as bad as every one thinks. hehe.
