Hi, all. I'm rather new to this horse thing. I just started riding lessons at the end of summer. After a couple months, I ended up adopting a horse from a rescue who had been saved from the slaughterhouse, named Hoover. He had been an Amish horse before, but has low pasterns.
The vet xrayed him and determined he was born with them, so therefor safe for trail and pleasure. I have him on a joint mix, ShowFlex, and will not let him carry over 150 lbs. He's a rather strange looking little fellow, too...a standardbred pony cross, which is leading to some fun saddling challenges. But I'll gripe about that in the tack forum.
Anyway, nice to meet you all.
