can you have a black horse with blue eyes?
This is a difficult question to answer....
For a horse to have blue eyes they need to carry the cream or dilute gene.
Pages and pages could and have been written on the genetic colours of horse...so I wont go there :)
In true terms a true black horse is jet black and has dark eyes and the only other colour on them would be white marking and are very shiny and have a very intense black coat. (no brown or redness in there coats)
There is a colour known as smoky black. It is a black horse that carries the cream gene. The smoky black colour ranges from anything in colour from black (less intense and shiny than a true black), faded black colour, down to the dark liver reds.
Another option you can look at are the paints as they can have blue eyes. It may take some searching but you could find a horse with blue eyes with a lot of black on it and minimal white markings.
Hope this helps...good luck with your search :)

I do not believe that it is genetically possible to get a black horse with Blue eyes. I think as the other poster said, Genetically speaking it would be a true oddity.
So if you actually found the horse you would probably pay a ton for it.
