The American Foundation Arabian Horse Association was formed in 2001 to preserve and promote the original bloodlines of Arabian horses found in the United States by and before 1960. These horses were known for their versatility, willing dispositions, athletic ability, tenacity, good substance and bone, property conformation and balance with beauty and grace.

American Foundation Arabian horses were utilized as calvary mounts, driving, working cattle, as performance plus individuals. Today, these bloodlines may still be found active on the endurance trail, in cutting pens, as pleasure mounts for versatile riding horses, helping with therapeutic riding programs, as all-around family horses.

If you have questions or are interested in American Foundation Arabian horses, membership is free in AFAHA. I will be happy to provide further information.

Very very nice looking horses. I was unaware that the Arabian breed had been around in the States for so long.

How do they do as trail horses. They look high strung, but maybe they are more on the loyal side than first appearances.

Early American Foundation (EAF) Arabian horses have been in the United States since the time of President George Washington (prior to 1776) who rode a white Arabian stallion. Other historically notable men who rode Arabian horses were General Robert E. Lee, Homer Davenport (cartoonist fame) and W K Kellogg (cereal magnate).

Arabian horses were featured at the Chicago World's Fair in the late 1800's. The Arabian Horse Registry was initiated with the registration of *Nedjme. *Nedjme was Early American Foundation and Al Khamsa.

Early American Foundation Arabian horses make wonderful trail mounts. They have excellent athletic ability, willing dispositions, tenacity and versatility. Here is a modern day EAF Arabian mare on the trail.
