What are you going to do with them all? Are they for sale in time or are you going to retain any of them for future breeding?

All of the fillies thus far we will keep for replacements for their dams (big hooves to fill). The colts are available. Some are sweepstakes nominated, all are registered purebreds. We do have a waiting list. Foals are made available to those on the list, then offered for sale.

The young ones who stay on our farm to maturity are taught to ride and drive. We don't usually have the colts long enough, but if we do, they are gelded (to make excellent riding horses).

The mares, after being put under saddle, are taught to work cattle, rope (both pasture and arena), drive a buggy, and playday with the grandkids. We do alot of pasture riding to check cattle and fences. It's great groundwork for the young horses. They learn to cross creeks, wooden bridges, fallen trees, streams - anything can happen in large open rangeland.

The young horses, after weaning, have a 75 acre grassland pasture in which to romp, play and mature. It's Horse Heaven.
