What are some energy saving suggestions that anyone may have as ways we can all combat the rising price of oil? Gas prices are absolutley killing me at the pump so I have really tried to cut down on the places where I drive. i would love to be able to walk more the way that many in smaller communities do but my city just is not laid out in a fashion where this is possible unless you live right in the downtown area.

We got a thermostat with a timer on it and this has helped us save a good bit this winter on heating costs. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs in the home with the ones that are more energy efficient and although I have not seen a big difference using this, I hope it will at least save a little energy.

sounds like you're worried a lot about saving at the pump. I hear ya !! not all of us can go out and buy the latest hybrid. I do what you do and save up all my errands and when i'm out i get all those things done. no 1 errand trips anymore - i can't afford it.

Does anyone out there have a hybrid car? I will be honest when I say that I don't know anyone who does; most of the families I know have a van or SUV. But they seem to be all the rage with the celebs. Are they affordable for the common folk? Will they be soon and are they roomy enough for the whole family?
