Are those who have a lot of horses under pressure to make them a full time commitment? What I really mean is how much time during a week do you have to devote to the care of a horse if you are an owner?

wow that is a great question that I really do not know the answer to but would love to hear what others have to say. It seems like sometimes people acquire the horses for status rather than for what is important, which is the care and love of the animlas. I think that when this happens is when you begin to read stories of abuse or neglect. Just how many hours per week a good horse owner takes with their animals would be a great response to hear.

That all depends on what you are doing with the horses and how many you have.
If they are not ridden they still need feeding, grooming, feet checked, fences checked, clean water, regular attention to their feet, regular worming and vet checks. Older horse need more care as well. If they are stabled then you are looking at time to clean out stall everyday.
If they are in competition then they need regular training and exercise on top of that as well
