Posting about daylight savings time really got me to thinking about summer and how that is typically the time in my neighborhood when I see houses that have been on the market for a while actually sell. I guess people try to get settled before the new school year. But I am not sure that this year is going to be like that with the housing market in such a snarl. What do you guys think about the potential of home sales this year?

yeah, the housing market really stinks !! sub-prime mortgages have stirred up a crisis unlike anything seen before. however, if you are looking to buy, you could be in luck. the fed is dropping the rates by the day and prices are lowering too. depends what side of the table you're on. hope it's on the buying side.

thank goodness we are on the good side of things. looking to buy soon and i'm excited about the rates and the decrease in values. definately sticking with a 15 yr or 30 year FIxed rate. hoping to find property for horses with a ready made barn. wish me luck..

I've lived here for 10 years and only 2 houses have ever been on the market on my street. They both sold with two weeks (it's the beauty of having property around you!). There are three right now though. On one of them the price has dropped $250,000! Kind of frightening!
don't you feel sad that you're losing neighbors?? what if the new ones aren't as good as the ones who've left??:(
