my neighbor keeps insisting i need to invest in a round pen. why do i need to? what are the benefits to training in a round pen?

I like the round pens. When the horse is in the round pen it obviously makes it harder for him to get away. Easier to introduce tack and easier to teach tricks in a round pen. I am a fan.

I try to akin this to having a baby swaddled. They feel more comfortable and know all the space around them. I've always like using round pens!

thanks guys for the advice. I'll think about the round pen. You gave me a few things to think on. Sounds like the horses are actually feel pretty safe in the round pen situation. I like that

That's always been my experience. You never know when one will creep in and it creep them out though! Ask about.

Round pens have been easier for me to introduce new things to my horse. They seem to adapt better to new tack there too. I guess they feel safer, or they don't know where to run.
