Struggling with a new saddle. Really want to make it work. Looking for a new pad thinking it will help with the fit. Just can't fit it and affraid I may have to sell it. need some help.

Is the saddle too big, and where is it too big? How much does it not fit (i.e., what part of your hand will go between the saddle and the horse?)
They do make built-up pads that can help with fit somewhat, but it really depends on how much the saddle doesn't fit. Ideally, the saddle should fit the horse like a glove without a pad, which minimizes the chances of rubbing or hot spots.
If you're not sure exactly where the saddle isn't fitting, saddle up your horse and ride him to a sweat under the saddle. He will sweat were the saddle is contacting, and have dry spots were it isn't. A good fit should have a perfect trace of the saddle on his back, with even wetness all over.

I agree with HooverH :)
A poor fitting saddle is like wearing shoes that are a size too small. It will hurt and possible injure your horse. Not to mention that your horse will start to link pain to being ridden and then you will have behavior problems.
I tried using a pad once on a saddle that didnt fit and it caused more problems than it was worth :(
Do what HooverH says and if you need a new saddle get in a good saddler to look and measure your horse and fit a new saddle.
