Do you ever feel like you don't want to leave home or go on vacation because you don't trust anyone to watch your farms? I can't help but think NO one knows my animals the way I do. I hate babysitters for my horses and other animals.

I am so glad you said that. I thougth I was crazy and overprotective. I only leave for short times and my nearby family take care of things. I pay them, I know it's hard work, and they feel obligated to do a good job.

We have some friends in our local organization that we trade off with. It's easier to trust other horse people you've gotten to really know. They take care of our stable when we are away and we take care of theirs. It's a great trade-off.

It's finding the friend that you trust. it's finding the friend that's relaible. it's finding the firend that is knowledgeable. And finally, it's finding the friend that can keep their mouth closed. You don't want a lot of people know that you're leaving them unattended.
