I have recently been offered an eleven year old registerd Paint gelding for a good price. He is gentle and well-trained. It would be fun to do jumping, gymkhana and dressage on him, but I am only allowed one horse...and I have to choose between this horse...and Prince. :(
Prince was my very first horse and I can't even bear the thought of losing him! But he is already about 20 years old. Maybe it's time to move on. I would like to be able to jump again...I need a younger horse...But I don't know if I can sell him!
What do I do?

I just had a reeling flashback to my freshman year of college. I had a wonderful Tennessee Walker that was getting really old. I grew up with her! When I came back on break my first semester, my father had given her to a local camp. I was through the roof mad! It was the best thing for her. I did get another that was great, and she introduced riding to a lot of kids that had never even been close up to a horse! I'll never have another memory like hers, but I have loved everyone I've had after . . just in a different way.

Why are you only allowed 1 horse?
Prince sounds fantastic....you don't have to sell him if space is an issue. I had the same problem with my first horse. I couldn't and wouldn't sell her but she was getting old and I wanted to do more.
I found a stable 15 mins down the road from me and leased her out to a girl who was just learning to ride & loved & cared for her just as I would. I still had control over her and made sure she was well looked after and it allowed me to move to a better horse.
Its hard because they become part of the family isn't it?
