My horse is getting over the dreaded Tapeworm...yuck
I have him seperated to feed ...I know that oats is the top feed yuou can give a horse...and he loves corn...I was wondering if mixing the 2 might help him chew up the oats since he tends to not chew them good....i know corn has a high fat content...has anyone ever had a horse that they have had to help gain its weight back???
what did you feed them???
any help or ideas are greatly appreciated!!

You can mix the 2 together..is he currently on oats, corn or other hard feed?

If not you will have to introduce it gradually so he doesnt run the risk of colic. The best way to get weight on a horse is through good quality hay.

How often is he fed? Does he have access to hay throughout the day?

You could also try a small amount of sunflower seed oil or flaxseed oil in his oats if you are feeding them atm. It is a good sourse of good oil, he will get his omegas, help him put on weight and give his coat a nice shine as most horses that have had worms tend to get a dullish coat :)
