Just wanted to say hello! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I own a stubborn little Bay Kentucky Mountain Saddle horse. He's 2, and full of crap! I've owned him since he was 1 month old, and I was there within 5 min of his birth(Love at first sight!:p) His name is Legend's Captain Jack, and boy does the name fit. His sire is Legend's Storm Travler(champion in conformation) and his dam was Legend's Maggie Mae(sadly Maggie passed due to colic about a week ago). Maggie was a gaited Morgan, but she was registered Kentucky before the books were closed.
I never would have imagined the bond he and I would form, but I would rather sleep in the barn with him than lose him. I am relatively new to the horse world, I immersed myself in it almost 3 yrs ago. I grew up in the city and was unable to have horses even though I have lived, breathed, and dreamed of horses since birth. I met a wonderful trainer/breeder named Judy Sebree a few years ago and started taking lessons from her. Before long I was spending every spare moment at the farm, learning whatever I could. I progressed quickly and no longer take lessons, now I help her train the green beans!! I have started 3 youngsters and loved every minute of it. Now I give injections, wrap sore legs, show a bit(Rode Travler at Hoosier Horse Fair last year!), feed, groom, pretty much everything. I would love to try barrels someday, but gaited horses don't really do that.lol.:rolleyes: I have a bad back, so have to be pretty careful.
