My horse just got his first bath, with Viodine shampoo, last week. I used the iodine because he had a little bit of rainscald. I did use Oster Berry All Purpose Shampoo on his face, because I didn't want to get the iodine around his eyes.
Now, a week later, he's itchy all over except his face. His skin is flaking like dry skin, it's not the rainscald because there are no scabs or places he won't let me scratch because it hurts. The skin under looks dry and whitish (he's a an almost black dun). It's worst on his body, but he does have some down his upper legs and his neck.
I picked him up some Eqyss Sensitive Skin Shampoo, and he's getting another bath tomorrow. Could he be allergic to iodine? Is there anything else I can do for him, creams or lotions?
