Book on Rescuing PMU Horses coming out in October.

I just got an e-mail from Frank Weller. Frank Weller is the founder of EARS, the Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary. Equine Angels rescues mares and foals by purchasing them from PMU operations in Canada, where they could be in danger of being sold for slaughter. The EARS organization then finds these “PMU horses” good homes with responsible owners. Check out the mares and foals on the EARS website. There are some really nice draft crosses, paints, and appaloosas on the site.

The e-mail I received from Mr. Weller was mainly concerned with the book “Equine Angels: Stories of Rescue, Love, and Hope” by Frank Weller and Donna M. Cloutier (photographer). The book chronicles the lives of the horses rescued by the EARS facility and the way the animals have enriched the lives of the families adopting them, and is packed with full color photos of these beautiful horses taken by Ms. Cloutier. I have already pre-ordered my copy from Amazon.com and can hardly wait to get it. The book comes out in October. I would like to take this time to congratulate Mr. Weller and Ms. Cloutier on their new book. I hope it generates enough publicity for the EARS organization to support their efforts for many years to come.

Note: the reader is welcome to copy this post - in fact I would like to encourage you to do so in order to help promote the efforts of the EARS PMU horse rescue organization.
